ISTAC publishes Canary Islands received 1,553,092 tourists in October, 7.6% more than in the same month of 2023

The number of tourists entering the Canary Islands by air in October 2024 was 1,553,092. This represents an increase of 110,157 tourists (+7.6%) compared to the same month in 2023. Tourists resident abroad numbered 1,396,120, 8.58% more than in the same period last year, and those resident in Spain numbered 156,971, 0.1% less in annual rate.

Tourists from the United Kingdom accounted for the highest number of arrivals (565,329), 36.4% of the total number of tourists. They were followed by tourists resident in Germany (240,215), representing 15.5% of the total, and by those resident in the rest of Spain (156,971), accounting for 10.1% of the total number of tourists received.

The island which received the highest number of tourists was Tenerife (617,714), followed by Gran Canaria, with 410,664 tourists.
