Provisional data July 2024

Overnight stays in hotel establishments increased by 2.2% in July with respect to the same month in 2023. The Hotel Price Index rose 7.2% in annual rate. Hotels invoiced an average of 140.5 euros per occupied room, 8.0% more than in the same month of the previous year.

The Hotel Tourism Situation disseminates the results of the Hotel Occupancy Survey, the Hotel Price Indices and the Hotel Sector Profitability Indicators every month.

The Hotel Occupancy Survey offers information on travellers, overnight stays and average stay, distributed by country of residence for foreign travellers or Autonomous Community of origin for Spanish travellers, as well as the category of the establishments they occupy. It also provides estimates of the number of establishments open, bedplaces, occupancy rate and employment in the sector, by category of establishment.

The Hotel Price Index is a statistical measure of the evolution of the set of prices applied by employers to the different clients staying in hotels in Spain. It therefore measures the evolution of prices in the sector from the perspective of supply.
