INE publishes the Non-hotel tourist accommodation occupancy survey

Overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation increased by 1.7% in July with respect to the same month in 2023. Overnight stays in campsites increased by 6.7%. Those in flats fell by 1.3%, those in rural tourism by 2.1% and those in hostels by 5.6%.

The Tourist Apartment Occupancy Survey provides information on the supply and demand of the services of this type of accommodation, registered as such in the corresponding register of the Tourism Departments of each Autonomous Community. On the demand side, information is offered on travellers, overnight stays and average stay distributed by country of residence of the travellers and category of the establishments they occupy or by Autonomous Community of origin in the case of Spanish travellers; on the supply side, the estimated number of establishments open, estimated bedplaces, occupancy rates and information on employment in the sector is provided. This information is offered monthly, on a national, Autonomous Community, provincial, tourist area and tourist spot level.

The Tourist Apartment Price Index measures the monthly evolution of the set of prices that tourist flat establishments apply to their clients. It provides information on a national level and broken down by type of rate and by type of flat.
