Since October 2015, the Tourism Expenditure Survey has become an essential tool for understanding foreign visitors’ spending when leaving Spain. This survey, which took over from the previous Tourism Expenditure Survey (EGATUR) conducted by Turespaña until September 2015, provides valuable and detailed data on the consumption behaviour of international tourists.
The main objective of this operation is to provide a clear and accurate picture of tourism expenditure, enabling policy makers, businesses and other stakeholders in the tourism sector to make informed and strategic decisions. Continuity in the dissemination of these results guarantees a reliable and consistent source of information to analyse the trends and economic impact of tourism in Spain.
