This is the highest figure in the INE&#8217;s Frontur series.<br \/>The United Kingdom was the main country of residence, with more than 2.0 million tourists and an increase of 5.3% compared to September 2023. From Germany came 1.3 million (up 1.1%) and from France 1.1 million (up 14.3%).<br \/>The main countries of origin in the first nine months of the year were the United Kingdom (with more than 14.7 million and an increase of 7.4%), France (with almost 10.3 million and an increase of 10.5%) and Germany (with almost 9.4 million, an increase of 8.0%).<\/p><h6>Primary mode of accommodation and other trip characteristics<\/h6><p>The number of tourists using market accommodation as their main mode of accommodation increased by 7.1% in annual rate. Within this type, hotel accommodation grew by 4.6% and rented accommodation by 32.8%, while non-market accommodation increased by 23.0%.<br \/>The length of stay of the majority of tourists was four to seven nights, with almost 4.7 million and an annual increase of 8.7%. The number of visitors increased by 0.6% among non-overnight visitors (excursionists), while it decreased by 0.8% among tourists with a longer duration of stay (more than 15 nights).<\/p><p>Almost 6.9 million tourists travelled without a package tour in September, an increase of 10.9%. More than 2.7 million package tourists arrived, an increase of 4.8%.<\/p><h6>Autonomous Communities of main destination<\/h6><p>Illes Balears was the main destination for tourists in September, with 22.4% of the total. It was followed by Catalonia (21.2%) and Andalusia (15.0%).<\/p><p>The Balearic Islands received 4.2% more tourists than in September 2023.
