Con <strong>2.900 millones de noches de estancia<\/strong> en establecimientos tur\u00edsticos, la regi\u00f3n super\u00f3 los 2.800 millones registrados en 2022. De estas, <strong>1.600 millones correspondieron a turistas nacionales<\/strong> y <strong>1.400 millones a hu\u00e9spedes internacionales<\/strong>, reflejando el equilibrio entre turismo interno y externo.<\/p><h6>Crecimiento del Turismo Internacional<\/h6><p>Entre 2022 y 2023, las pernoctaciones de hu\u00e9spedes internacionales de fuera de Europa crecieron notablemente, aumentando del <strong>12,6% al 15,6%<\/strong>. Esto supuso un incremento de <strong>60 millones de noches adicionales<\/strong>, equivalente a <strong>164.000 hu\u00e9spedes extranjeros m\u00e1s cada noche del a\u00f1o, en promedio<\/strong>.<\/p><p>En cuanto a la procedencia de los turistas internacionales:<\/p><ul><li><strong>7,1%<\/strong> de las noches fueron de visitantes de Am\u00e9rica del Norte.<\/li><li><strong>4,6%<\/strong> de Asia.<\/li><li><strong>2,2%<\/strong> de Am\u00e9rica Central y del Sur.<\/li><li><strong>1,0%<\/strong> de Ocean\u00eda.<\/li><li><strong>0,7%<\/strong> de \u00c1frica.<\/li><\/ul><p>A pesar del aumento de visitantes de fuera de Europa, los turistas de otros pa\u00edses de la UE continuaron liderando las cifras, representando el <strong>62,4% de las pernoctaciones internacionales<\/strong>, mientras que los de otros pa\u00edses europeos sumaron el <strong>21,4%<\/strong>.<\/p><h6>Capacidad de Alojamiento: Hacia los 30 Millones de Plazas<\/h6><p>La Uni\u00f3n Europea se acerc\u00f3 a los <strong>30 millones de plazas<\/strong> para turistas en 2023, alcanzando un total estimado de <strong>29,2 millones<\/strong>, frente a los 28,9 millones de 2022.<\/p><p>Italia y Francia lideraron la capacidad disponible, concentrando algo m\u00e1s de un tercio del total:<\/p><ul><li>Italia: <strong>5,2 millones de plazas (18%)<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Francia: <strong>5,1 millones de plazas (17%)<\/strong>.<br \/>Les siguieron Espa\u00f1a y Alemania, con <strong>3,8 millones (13%)<\/strong> y <strong>3,4 millones (13%)<\/strong> de plazas, respectivamente.<\/li><\/ul><h6>El Atractivo de las Zonas Costeras<\/h6><p>Casi la mitad de las noches (48%) en 2023 se pasaron en establecimientos de alojamiento ubicados en zonas costeras, con un total de <strong>1.400 millones de pernoctaciones<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Entre los pa\u00edses con zonas costeras, Malta destac\u00f3 con el <strong>100% de sus pernoctaciones<\/strong> en alojamientos costeros, seguida de Chipre (<strong>97%<\/strong>) y Grecia (<strong>96%<\/strong>).
