In January 2025, the total expenditure by international tourists visiting Spain reached <strong data-start=\"290\" data-end=\"308\">\u20ac7.132 billion<\/strong>, marking an <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"329\">8.9%<\/strong> increase compared to the same month in the previous year.<\/p><p data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"549\">The <strong data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"427\">average spending per tourist<\/strong> stood at <strong data-start=\"437\" data-end=\"447\">\u20ac1,408<\/strong>, reflecting a <strong data-start=\"462\" data-end=\"470\">2.7%<\/strong> increase, while the <strong data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"517\">average daily spending<\/strong> rose by <strong data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"534\">4.3%<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"538\" data-end=\"546\">\u20ac165<\/strong>.<\/p><h6 data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"579\"><strong data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"577\">Top source markets<\/strong><\/h6><p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"934\">British tourists were the highest spenders in Spain, accounting for <strong data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"657\">15.4%<\/strong> of the total expenditure. They were followed by German visitors (<strong data-start=\"723\" data-end=\"732\">11.1%<\/strong>) and tourists from the Nordic countries (<strong data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"782\">8.7%<\/strong>). Notably, spending from Nordic travelers grew by <strong data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"842\">12.8%<\/strong>, followed by a <strong data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"866\">6.0%<\/strong> increase from German tourists and <strong data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"909\">2.5%<\/strong> from British visitors.<\/p><h6 data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"991\"><strong data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"989\">Spending distribution and accommodation types<\/strong><\/h6><p data-start=\"992\" data-end=\"1039\">The main categories of tourist spending were:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1040\" data-end=\"1266\"><li data-start=\"1040\" data-end=\"1120\"><strong data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1064\">Tourist activities<\/strong>, accounting for <strong data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1090\">23.7%<\/strong> of total spending (+10.3%).<\/li><li data-start=\"1121\" data-end=\"1209\"><strong data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1150\">International transport<\/strong> (not included in package tours), with <strong data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1198\">22.3%<\/strong> (+9.6%).<\/li><li data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1266\"><strong data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1231\">Food and dining<\/strong>, representing <strong data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1255\">16.3%<\/strong> (+7.8%).<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1467\">More than half of the total expenditure (<strong data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1318\">53.7%<\/strong>) was allocated to <strong data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1361\">hotel accommodations<\/strong>, which saw a <strong data-start=\"1375\" data-end=\"1383\">9.4%<\/strong> increase.
